Works is where your company writes: meeting notes, concepts, proposal text, internal guides. Several colleagues type in the same document, see who is working where, and no longer need file copies or email round trips. Every state is saved automatically, every document belongs to exactly one tenant by technical enforcement, and everything runs GDPR-compliant on our own servers in Nuremberg.
What Works does
One editor for everything you write
Headings, lists, tables, checklists and quotes are built into the editor, with no detour through Word templates or third-party add-ins. Text is saved continuously, so you never have to hit save and lose nothing even if the browser crashes. The editor is deliberately lean: it does exactly what daily work requires instead of offering a hundred formatting options nobody ends up using.
Several people in the same document
Multiple people edit the same document in real time and every change appears immediately for everyone else. You can see who is writing where and no longer have to ask whether someone still has the file open. That removes the classic copies named final_v3 and eliminates the job of merging three versions afterwards.
Saved states instead of orphaned files
States are saved for every document, so you can go back at any time when something was deleted or overwritten by accident. The states belong to the document itself rather than to individual users, so they survive when someone leaves the company. How a text came about therefore stays traceable.
Sharing per document
Every document starts out private and is shared deliberately with individual colleagues. Anyone without access does not see the document at all, not even in search. That lets you work on confidential drafts, for example on HR topics or proposal pricing, inside the same system as everything else without exposing them to the whole team.
Tenant isolation enforced in the database
Every document, every saved state and every share is tied to your company, protected by row-level security directly in the database plus an additional module gate. The separation is therefore not just hidden in the interface but enforced one layer deeper: even a faulty call cannot return another tenant's data.
Connected to Documents, Knowledge and Projects
A finished text moves into the audit-proof archive of the Documents module, permanently valid content goes into the Knowledge module, and meeting notes attach to the matching project. Works is the workbench for writing, while archive, knowledge base and project file keep doing their own job.
Who uses this module
CEO
As managing director you no longer write the quarterly update in Word and mail it around. You create it as a document and invite two team leads to write along. You work on the same text in parallel, the state is always current, and in the end you move the result into the knowledge base where everyone can find it. For sensitive topics the draft stays private until you deliberately share it.
Team lead
As a team lead you keep the notes of the weekly round during the meeting itself while two colleagues add their points in parallel. You capture tasks as a checklist and open items stay visible until the next round. Because states are saved continuously, you can still reconstruct weeks later what was discussed and what came of it.
Employee
As an employee you draft a guide for a recurring process, collect feedback from a colleague and only share the text once it is genuinely ready. You need no extra account with an outside provider and no file on your desktop, and the text stays where the rest of the company data lives.
